Bristol-based fibre optics specialist continues its impressive growth with award win at this year’s UK Fibre Awards in London

Pulse Networks is a fibre optics and telecommunications business that has enjoyed impressive expansion in a 12-month period. In addition to increasing its headcount from 1 to 45, the company’s progression was recently consolidated by their award of Highly Commended for Best Fibre Rollout Supplier at the UK Fibre Awards 2023 in London.

Pulse Networks acts as principal contractor for four of the UK’s top 10 internet service providers. The company delivers a full turnkey service - from survey, design and civils to fibre installation and testing - across Central and the West of England on their behalf to cement its reputation as one of the most efficient fibre rollout contractors in the industry.

The telecoms industry is in a state of reform with a number of ISPs pulling back on construction due to a hold in investment from their parent companies. Multiple companies are going through consolidation and others considering buyouts and mergers of their current asset base/infrastructure.

“I have extremely ambitious plans for Pulse, not only within telecoms, but also in renewables having just created a subsidiary within the Pulse Group called Pulse Eco Ltd. As well as what we achieve on the job, I am proud to represent a team of individuals with huge hearts that go out of their way to support Pulse’s work with mental health and young homelessness charities." said Josh Packer, Managing Director at Pulse Networks.

Their work within the community is renowned, with the team involved in several large council projects and attending multiple job fairs through the City of Bristol College and the Job Centre to provide opportunities to keen individuals looking for new careers. As part of Pulse’s ESG strategy, they have also partnered with STEM Learning to showcase the telecoms and renewable energy industry within the current education system.

Pulse is keen to collaborate with likeminded Bristol-based businesses within the fibre, utilities and renewables sectors that manage the construction of projects looking for a contractor and share our passion for this ethical approach,” concluded Josh.
